Green BeansOh, Snap! Colorado
Green Beans are Here

Whether you call them green beans, string beans or snap beans, this popular vegetable is versatile, and colorful. Bean pods can actually be green, yellow, purple or red speckled. Choose fresh, well colored beans that snap when easily bent. Refrigerate green beans in a plastic bag and use within one week of purchase. Green beans are a good source of fiber and vitamin C and are fat free and sodium free. Look for Colorado green beans at your local grocery store, farmers’ market or at restaurants across the state. Each month the Colorado Department of Agriculture features a different commodity to highlight the variety and quality of products grown in the state.
